Eyjafjallajökull - South Coast & Snowmobiles

CERTIFIED OPERATOR     Tour operator: Basecamp Iceland     10 hours     Travel method: Super Jeep

After departure from Reykjavik, our first stop is at Gljúfrabúi waterfall where we meet up with our friends at South Coast Adventure that with their local expert guides, heavily modified super trucks and top of the line snowmobiles can provide an exclusive access to Eyjafjallajokull volcano. Like us, they have made it their mission to only offer authentic small group adventures so that you can enjoy the serenity of the glacier away from the hustle of the big bus destinations. After the awe-inspiring snowmobile adventure, we get to warm up on the local lamb soup for a lunch and then continue our journey south making sure you don't miss out on all the amazing waterfalls and troll like rock formations on the way. Going local, you get to explore the farmlands that were most affected by the eruption in 2010 with a stop at Þorvaldseyri farm before turning back to the city from Skogarfoss waterfall. We aim at returning to Reykjavik just in time for dinner around 6 pm but with a check in on the black sand beaches along with some other selected stops that were left out on the way south.
